Despite bans and imprisonment, the renowned Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi continues to create deeply human films. This year, he received the Cannes Film Festival’s highest honor – the Palme d’Or – for his latest work. Reinventing the road movie genre, Panahi takes viewers on an emotional journey filled with unexpected twists. Late at night, while driving with his wife and daughter, Ekbal accidentally hits a dog and damages his car’s engine. Searching for help, the family arrives at a mechanic named Vahid’s garage.
