Anatols Imermanis, a Latvian crime writer and poet, dreamed of Paris and freedom but was trapped in the Soviet Union. Living a bohemian lifestyle, he created his own version of Paris. His dying wish was for his ashes to be scattered in Paris. The film follows Aleksandrs Zapols, a poet and soulmate, who, 24 years after Imermanis's death, sets out to fulfill this wish. The search for the urn unfolds like a crime novel. The journey reveals that modern Paris differs from Imermanis's dream. Local poet helps us to find the old Paris and give peace to the old bohemian, who still manages to play one of his jokes, proving that death is not the end of freedom.
