Dirty Business

A cinematic journey following the traditional coal industry scattered around Israel and the West Bank, shedding light on economic relations between the two sides, and exploring distorted processes and situations. The film is a road trip from seemingly prosperous Kibbutz in the very north of Israel, to the impoverished north of West Bank, to the industrial areas in central Israel, and finally to the economic capital - Tel Aviv, discovering the economic realities and characters along the way.

My Father the Banker

Self-made banker Boriss Osipovs achieves quick success immediately after the collapse of the USSR, but flees Latvia to avoid arrest for illegal operations. Fifteen years later, his family receives a photograph from Interpol of an elderly gentleman with the same name who resides in a Malaysian mental asylum. Could it be him? Despite the reservations of her family, his daughter, documentary director Ieva Ozolina starts an investigation to find out the truth about the man in the photograph.

THE SHORT DAY

An ordinary nursing home for the elderly on the border of Latvia. It is one of many where our parents, grandparents and relatives spend their last days. It is a generation that enjoyed the golden years of their lives during the era of the Soviet Union, where it was promised to them: work as much as you can, we will take care of you when you grow old. Regimes changes, and the reality is different. Film insights the personal worlds, hopes and dreams of inhabitants of the nursing home.
