Andrew Detmer is a 17 year old loner with an abusive Dad and terminally ill mother. He films every detail of his life to collect evidence of his father’s abuse. One evening, his cousin Matt brings him to a party, where the two of them and the most popular guy in school (Steve) encounter a mysterious object in a field. The object does something to the three of them. They find that they can levitate objects with their minds and do other amazing things like flying and creating personal force fields.

Initially they have fun, but their pranks become ever more dangerous and they must face the inevitable question of whether they can handle the responsibility that comes with extraordinary powers
