Reinis Kalnaellis’ film When Apples Roll tells a story of Cat and his friend Mousy whose quiet life is perturbed by a strange egg suddenly rolled into their garden. This animated short has been shown in 59 film festivals in 35 different countries, giving joy to thousands of viewers around the world and collecting several awards along the way.
Springtime in Vārnu Street, directed by Edmunds Jansons, is an animated musical about love, dignity and forgiveness, based on popular Latvian children’s book “Republic of Vārnu Street” about the adventurous everyday life of kids in the beginning of 20th century.
Meet again with the favourite dolls of the studio Animācijas Brigāde in a new fairytale Master of Ice, directed by Ēvalds Lācis. In a faraway land a vengeful Wizard freezes the whole kingdom and kidnaps the beautiful Princess. Only the young Page remains unaffected and sets on a journey to rescue the Princess. At the moment the film is being screened also in France – with great success!
In the film Sister and Brother by beloved director Roze Stiebra the siblings go on a dream journey to America. Each one dreams her adventures differently but everything comes together in an enchanting, neverending tale.
The last in programme is Nils Skapāns’ Wonderful Day – bright and colourful story about an ordinary day which turns into unusual one thanks to a magic button. The film has just participated in the prominent Berlin international film festival.
