In the short film programme a film by Aija Bley will be premiered - Island of Doctor D. It tells about a young nurse who is heading for the Island of Doctor D. to disclose the mystery of this island. The director's talent in the animation field is certified also by the first professional Latvian 3D animation The Prickly based on the folk tales adapted to present life. The surreal vision Insomnia by Vladimir Leschiov has traveled the film festivals throughout the world receiving many prizes and among them the prize for the best film at the famous short film festival at Clermont Ferrand in France. However, the clue to the philosophical etude Woman by Signe Baumane lies in the meaningful symbols of the works of Borhess. Philosophical questions are also asked by the director Inga Praulina in Tale of the Palace, however Askolds Saulitis is not very serious when trying to follow the chain of causes and consequences in the satirical sketch Clara and Rubinstein.

Well known actors and the morning jokers of Radio SWH have impersonised the images of the tale by Rudolfs Blaumanis The Little Devils, but the cooperation between the director Ruta Mezavilka and designer Jurgis Krasons when producing The National Hero resulted in the National Award Lielais Kristaps for the best animation designer.

Movie in latvian language, without subtitles.
