Live performance opera transmissions from the legendary New-York Metropolitan Opera in the cinema Kino Citadele.

 

For the sixth season in turn already the film theatre Kino Citadele has the honor of presenting opera live broadcasts in the best sound and picture quality from the legendary Metropolitan opera in New York. Beginning with the new production of Tchaikovsky’s „EUGENE ONEGIN” on October 5th the opera lovers will be able to enjoy the latest masterpieces by the biggest and most prestigious opera house in the world in the following 10 performances during the whole season:

  • March 1 at 7 p.m. Alexander Porfiryevich Borodin PRINCE IGOR - new production;
  • March 15 at 6 p.m. Jules Massenet WERTHER - new production;
  • April 5 at 7 p.m. Giacomo Puccini LA BOHÈME
  • April 26 at 7 p.m. W. A. Mozart COSÌ FAN TUTTE
  • May 10 at 7 p.m. Gioachino Rossini LA CENERENTOLA

A special event for the Latvian opera-lovers will be the live broadcast of the new performance of Massenet’s tragic piece, “WERTHER”, in spring with the Latvian diva - mezzo-soprano Elīna Garanča as Charlotte.

Only for first presale weeks (from June 17 until July 21) season subscription will be provided for very special price – 120 Ls. Tickets for separate transmission will be available from July 22.
